Sound ideas for our thriller.

For our thriller we want something that contradicts its main aim. A few ideas we have come up with is having a nursery rhyme throughout as they are seen to be happy and would create the illusion of the little girl loosing her mind as she thinks everything is ok but it's not. This would also fit in with the ideas we have had for our title as we are planning on using a pun to represent confusion. We realise we cannot use any official music so we thought we could have the protagonist humming the tune therefore the confusion is more thrilling as it comes from the voice of the protagonist.

The nursery we liked the most is 'Ring-A-Roses' as we thought this fitted in with our playground theme along with the fact that the song also assosiates itself with war is contradictive within itself anyway therefore would be perfect for the enigma we are trying to create.

A ring, a ring o' roses,
A pocket full o’posies-
Atch chew! atch chew!
They all fall down.

This is one of the influences for us choosing to use a nursery rhyme...

The actuall song was created when the black plage was in Europe. The first part of the original is 'Ring around the rosey', this line came from the fact that when you had the black plage, red rings would form on your body. The second part, 'pocket full of possies' came from the fact that when you had the plage they would make you walk around with possies in your pocket so they knew you were going to die. The third part 'Ashes, ashes' came from the fact that if you still had the plage after you died, they'd burn you to prevent the disease from spreading. And the forth part, 'they all fall down' is the fact that you would die.

This explains why we picked the nursery rhyme as like our thriller, it is horrific and ironic.
