Title Sequences

The purpose of a title sequence is to identify the film. In addition a title sequence speaks volumes about the movie itself before it begins. It can make or break a movie as it is the first impression the audience get.
Moreover, the title sequences of Saul Bass are highly inspirational to people as he is regarded as the inventor of modern film title sequences. Saul Bass seized on the potential storytelling power of the opening and closing credits of a film.  Styles such as animation, live action, type treatments were used by Saul Bass to create films as diverse as Casino. What he created were opening credit sequences that did not simply announce the credits and open the movie, they were instead a logical extension of the film. Each sequence was in its self a short film that prepared the viewer for what was to come.
