Post Preliminary

After filming our preliminary we took the tape to the editing room and a year 13 student helped us to understand the process of downloading the film onto the computer and editing it on the 'Pinnacle' programme. We plugged the camera onto a device plugged into the computer then captured it onto the system. We then began the editing process.

By dragging the single shots onto the editing strip on Pinnacle, we could select which shots we wanted to include and which we could leave out. We all decided on the final order the clips would go for the film and then began to add transitions to make the shots fade in and out of each other or blackout then another shot appears. After this, we started to add music to the film, we kept the diagetic sound of the protagonist walking down the stairs and down the corridoor and then added a tune when she starts dancing and a buzzing noise when the final shot of Kayleigh's face is shown. We selected these tunes and sounds for comedy affect which i feel worked well for our film. Then we added the titles to our film for the finishing touch. We included the titled 'The Audition' at the begining and then who is staring in the film. Then at the end we included everybody's names who was involved in making and editing the film.

I think the editing was easier than what we first thought and wasn't as time consuming as we expected. It went quite well and the editing of the film made it more affective and better quality.
