Diary Of 2nd Day Of Shooting

On the 30th March we went to Ellie's house to discuss our plan of action for that day. We decided that we were going to go to a grave yard and film some shots of Kayleigh looking over a grave whilst Amy is overlooking her. We filmed a variety of shots in which we could work with so it would make sense yet also create an illusion for the audience. We started with an establishing shot consisting of a pan of the graveyard that went round to Kayleigh. We then filmed a long shot of Kayleigh, a mid shot, a close up and low angle. We also had a mid shot of the ribbon that is supposed to be Amy's and then a shot of Kayleigh dropping it and then it being on the floor. After that we added in Amy so that it looks like Kayleigh is being haunted by Amy. We filmed Amy far away from her and then she gradually gets closer without her actually moving - this way the audience knows that she isn't actually alive. We also filmed this shot from behind Amy through some tree's and a handheld shot from Amy's point of view with heavy breathing diegetic sound. After filming this we then had a  long shot of Amy and Kayleigh holding hands, then filmed this as a mid shot to the side and a close up of them holding hands and then drifting apart. We then filmed this exactly the same without Amy so it looks like Kayleigh is imagining it. We then filmed Kayleigh from a mid shot talking to Amy and walking off with yet without her. We filmed Kayleigh from a long shot walking out of the graveyard and put Amy in the shot watching her leave. As a great effect we thought it would look good if we filmed Kayleigh walking into Amy and then coming out the other side to create the illusion that she has just walked through her.

After leaving the grave yard we went back to the park that we originally filmed at to film some more shots of Amy and also of Kayleigh. We started with a low angle shot of Kayleigh walking into the park on her own with her hand out as if she is holding someone elses hand. We then took this again and then again but using a pan so she is walking down a different pathway. After this we filmed it with Amy to create a flashback to the past. We filmed a long shot, a mid shot and a pan of this. We then filmed from behind of Kayleigh on her own yet still imagining Amy is with her. We put Amy next to her in the bushes trying to reach out to her and then on the other side through the fence. We then filmed a close up of Amy's feet and an over the shoulder shot of Amy through the fence.

After this we went to the extreme and climb up a tree so that we could get a high angle shot of Kayleigh walking into the woods/river so make it more interesting. We then had a behind shot of Kayleigh walking down to see Amy playing in the river who isn't actually there. We then filmed this from the front in which we had to trek through the river to get to the other side. We then took some close up and mid shots of Amy washing her face in the water, one without any make up and the second with make up to create an evil illusion. We filmed this lots of times in rainy conditions. After that we filmed a mid-shot and close up of Amy walking around Kayleigh and speaking some freaky dialogue that will feature in the script. We also filmed this from the side and from a low angle. We then filmed the red ribbon in the river in which Kayleigh picks up. This became a trickier task then we thought as the water was rapid and we nearly lost the ribbon numerous times.

We finished filming at about 3:30pm due to heavy rain and decided if we did need any more shots then we would have to come back. Overall it was a good day of filming as we got a lot done.
